Not that long ago, I was introduced to scones through a cafe/bakery. They were delicious! However, it wasn't until this past year that I even considered making them myself. They are incredibly easy and can be made in a variety of flavors. Pictured are blueberry scones that I made. I added dried blueberries. You can add your choice of fruit, nuts, chocolate chips and other flavorings. I made these by dividing the prepared dough into two balls and flattened them according to directions. I recently read an online discussion that debated the need to use a special divided scone pan. You don't need it! I just took a large knife and cut the flattened wheel into triangles. Once cut, I pulled the pieces apart until there was a half inch of space between the pieces. I then put them in the freezer as directed and then baked according to directions. Below is the link to the King Arthur recipe I used. The second link is also from King Arthur which has additional scone recipes. Give scones a try! You can make them in all kinds of flavors! There's bound to be a recipe that meets your craving.
