This is my second twist bread. It's been making the rounds of some baking groups I belong to and I knew I had to try it. It is a versatile recipe too. The recipe as written, uses Nutella hazelnut spread (whats not to like?). But other fillings have been tried by group members including brown sugar/cinnamon or chocolate. I could see using poppy seed filling, or a fruit spread like cherry, raspberry or blueberry. Anything tasty that will provide a nice contrast to the dough would probably work. This bread does not need an icing, but I chose to ice mine. I think in the future, I will drizzle the icing to complement the pattern of the filling rather than a random drizzle which tends to hide the beautiful filling design.
The dough can be made by hand, with a mixer or with the dough cycle of your bread machine (method I used)
Some links on how to make this appear below, along with videos. The second video (if you can get past the chef's crazy jacket!) shows a different variation of the bread, making it look more like a flower. That's how I prepared mine. I also had some left over dough trimmings. I hate waste, so put some Nutella in a "miniroll", and wrapped it into a small coil on top of the bread center. I then slashed/snipped it with diagonal slashes to show the filling.
